Withdrawing or Dropping a Course

Drop

Students may drop a course up through the Friday after Syllabus Day without penalty. In this case, no notation will appear on the student’s transcript. 

Withdrawal 

After the drop deadline, students may withdraw from a class up through the Friday of the 8th full week following Syllabus Day. A ‘W’ grade will appear on the student’s transcript if the instructor deems that the student was successfully progressing in the course (toward a passing grade of P/C- or higher). If the instructor judges that the student was not making satisfactory progress in the course, a ‘WF’ grade will instead appear on the student’s transcript.
